Over the course of his 30-year experience in the public sector, Kiley has witnessed numerous changes in both his professional role and the broader societal landscape. As he neared the end of his career, organisational shifts, including significant staff reductions, hindered his ability to fulfil his role as a Team Leader, which led to inner conflict and heightened stress levels. This prompted Kiley to take a hiatus from work to alleviate his stress, during which he discovered the calming benefits of meditation in soothing his mind and body. Building upon his existing yoga practice, Kiley embarked on a more profound meditation journey following his retirement in October 2023, immersing himself in a 10-day silent retreat to kickstart his spiritual exploration. During a three-month visit to India, Kiley deepened his understanding of yoga philosophy, pranayama, and asanas at the Samyak Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda in Mysore, culminating in his attainment of the RYT 200 hrs certification to teach yoga. Upon his return to the UK, Kiley has begun sharing his expertise, as well as utilising his well established communication skills by teaching Vinyasa-style yoga to individuals of all ages and abilities, integrating breath-work and mindfulness practices into his sessions. This has been well received in the local community.

Karin spent 26 years working in the freight industry, holding various roles across different companies. Balancing a demanding job, caring for a young family, and managing a household took a toll on her health. It was only after she made the bold decision to leave her office job and seek solutions that she began to find answers. Karin became curious about the role that food played on the body and enrolled in a diploma course at the College of Naturopathic Medicine. This decision opened her mind to many possibilities of healing, leading her on a transformative journey to South America, where indigenous tribes introduced her to the healing properties of native plants. Her exploration continued with an interest in ancient Indian meditation techniques and yoga. While yoga had been a consistent practice for Karin, it was during a three-month stay in India that she decided to deepen her practice by completing a 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training course in Mysore. She discovered that yoga beautifully complemented her meditation practice, which had already become a significant part of her life. Now, Karin aims to share her journey and wisdom with others seeking their own path to inner peace and self-discovery. She is currently sharing her wisdom in her local community.

Why Yoga?

Yoga is a holistic practice that offers a multitude of benefits for both the mind and body. It has been shown to calm the mind, feed the soul, and bring peace through relaxation techniques. Additionally, yoga can help strengthen individuals both mentally and physically, aiding in overall well-being. It has also been known to have healing properties, assisting with conditions such as anxiety, depression, and menopause symptoms. Furthermore, yoga can release tight muscles, alleviate muscle armor from chronic stress, promote deeper breathing, and aid in releasing frozen fascia. The extensive list of benefits associated with yoga makes it a compelling choice for those seeking to improve their overall health, strength and wellness.

Absolutely, yoga is for all types of people.  It’s a practice that helps make you stronger and more flexible.  It improves focus and promotes relaxation in the body.

Whatever you are going to feel comfortable in.  You just need to be able to move and flex in your chosen outfit.

Just a yoga mat and a bottle of water.  Perhaps a pullover or a blanket for savasana (a resting pose).

Our recommendation would be to not eat a large meal for at least two hours prior to the class so that food is digested.

Yes, but we are not trained in pregnancy yoga so it would be more suitable for you to find a local teacher that has this qualification.

Yes.  Some poses may affect the downward flow, such as inversions.  It’s really your choice if you wish to practice during this time.
