Yin Yoga
In Yin yoga, most poses are seated and are sustained from two to five minutes. Yin yoga is working with connective tissue, fascia, joints and ligaments. Compared to Vinyasa yoga which concentrates on muscles too.

Yin yoga is connected to Chinese Medicine philosophies rather than Indian philosophies. Most yoga practiced is yang style yoga, faster paced, whereby Yin is slow, and more meditative. Staying in position and breathing into the edge of discomfort, observing thoughts and sensations as they come and go throughout the practice.

In this process, connective tissue is lengthened and strengthened. Yin increases flexibility, releases tension, boosts circulation and reduces stress. Our style of Yin incorporates fascia release techniques which we studied under Anya Hawkes.
